Session 1
I took the maximum two weeks as recommended to brush up and focus on getting my left hand and fingers in correct position. I developed a bad habit of letting my hand(thumb) rest at the high point of the neck, I am now trying to put the thumb lower so I will have the "arc". It certainly is easier to rest the thumb lower so that I can hit those frets easier, but at the same time I will need to strengthen my pinky. This is an ongoing process where I will use some of these exercises here as a training tool & way to warm up before I really go into practicing. Think I will come back to these exercises and redo ALL of them periodically.
Session 2
Took a little more time to finish this session because:
1. My schedule got hectic and I didn't get to practice as much as I wanted;
2. Amount of exercises surprised me, didn't have enough time to finish everything in one practice session.; and,
3. Need, need, need a music stand; and still looking for that great metronome. (Now using the one in the android app)
But it was fun and challenging, the songs and the exercises that are, because i'm forcing myself to read music and play "on the fly", never expect that to be actualyl quite challenging in a way. Also, forcing yourself to play on the right string without looking so much is not that easy. Glad I got thorough it.
Now the songs are fun and simple enough to play with, really reinforces everything taught in this session. I need to play more to the beats of the metronome and follow them.
I know I can move on to Session 3, but I will always come back to these two first sessions (esp. session 1 for warms up and refreshes)
TO-DO:
- Really set a practice routine - decide which exercise/ song to warm up, how long I should a take break, etc.
- Find good music stand and notebook - record and show everything I have gone through properly and make them easy enough to see.
Hope you are having a good time too! Good luck! Rock On
